Mustard Greens
Also known as Leaf Mustards, Mustard Greens refer to the leaves of the mustard plant. One of the most nutritious leafy green vegetables around, its lovely top greens are a great source of vitamin A, carotenes, vitamin K and flavonoid anti-oxidants.
The mustard plant is native to sub-Himalayan plains of the Indian sub-continent, commonly cultivated for its leaves and oil seeds since ancient times.
Handling Tips
Look for fresh mustard greens featuring crispy, dark-green leaves and should show vitality. Avoid sunken, spotted, or yellow, discolored leaves.
